I was born and raised in the mid-western city of Wichita, Kansas. Upon graduating from high school, I attended Wichita State University (WSU) where I earned a Bachelors of Arts degree in Spanish and International Relations with an emphasis in business. While enrolled at WSU, I studied abroad in Mexico. This experience had peaked my interest in international affairs.

Upon graduation, I joined the Peace Corps, and was stationed in a small town in southeastern Honduras heading up municipal development affairs. This truly was an invaluable experience for me. It helped me realize a very simple yet tremendously important insight to the nature of human progress: big impacts are usually accumulations of small, seemingly uneventful, changes. My service with the Peace Corps showed me firsthand how patience and determination are the virtues of social change, as well as the importance of looking at problems from different perspectives. <

While volunteering as a coordinator for Globe Aware, I am also working on a degree in sustainable development in Bordeaux, France (Univesité Bordeaux III). Previously, I worked as an English Assistant in the French public school system, where I had the opportunity to help students with their English-language skills and intercultural exchange. I’m looking forward to meeting you volunteers!<
