Summer break

It’s that time of year again! Spring break is in full swing and summer is just around the corner. For families looking for a more meaningful way to spend time together, a volunteer vacation might be the perfect solution. Our trips enable you to travel to an exotic location and see the sites, but with the added bonus of impacting a community in need!

Check out some of these shots from our programs around the world.

“Spring into service with a "voluntourism" vacation. You can mix with the locals, living and working in communities on a variety of projects and activities, from teaching English to caring for youngsters in orphanages, taking part in community improvement projects or conservation efforts.” Georgina Cruz Orlando Sentinel

Easter Around the World

Americans generally associate hunting easter eggs and the easter bunny with the Easter holiday, but Easter traditions vary greatly around the world.
  • Romania – Romanians wash their faces in warm bowls of water with a red egg and coin for health and good luck.
  • Costa Rica – In Costa Rica the week leading up to Easter is a major holiday with most residents having the entire week off work and school are closed.
  • In Poland boys try and drench girls with entire buckets of water. The girls who are drenched are said to be married within the year.
  • Norway – In Norway special edition crime novels are released, as it is a popular time to read thrillers.
  • Greece – In Corfu, people throw pots out of their windows on Holy Saturday.
