Fighting Poverty in India Fundraising Letter

In the coming year, I will join a group of volunteers to India on a mission to help a struggling community to achieve sustainability. The community projects we will be working on are quite varied, from teaching English, working with rescued child laborers and assisting at day care centers catering to children below the poverty line.
The worksite will be held in Jaipur, also known as “The Pink City”. It is called this because of their distinctly colored buildings, which were originally painted that color to imitate the red sandstone architecture of Mughal cities.
Along with the main projects, I will also have the opportunity to participate in beautification activities at government schools, day care centers and other public facilities.
By making a pledge on my behalf, you are supporting global sustainability projects on a local level, and contributing to a greater world of understanding and awareness. My goal is to raise at least $_____ this year. Over 85% of your contribution goes directly to the programs.
