We are always in support of our friends and colleagues in Romania!
Our friend Bogdan has started an NGO in order to improve the employment rate of those with special needs in Brasov, Romania.
INSERT Association has the mission to integrate disadvantaged people in the workforce, by building social enterprises such as the Ophori bath bomb workshop. We are creating this NGO in order to solve the problem of unemployment in Romania:
- More than a third (35.7%) of the population is at risk of poverty or social exclusion in Romania.
- There is an 8% rate of employment for disabled people.

HELP!
In order to distribute skincare products in any EU country, we need a cosmetic notification. We do not have the money to do the lab tests (safety tests and product information reports) for the recipes that we have. Basically, all the bath bombs that we make cannot be placed on the market. This is a serious issue, as we already have people and companies (beauty salons) interested in purchasing bath bombs from us. A particular franchise is interested in distributing our bath bombs in 12 saloons in Romania, which means distributing over 500 bath bombs every week! This will lead to employment for many.
The lab tests cost $1,720. Can you help us raise this amount? Any help will be much appreciated!

Redeeming Romania Fundraising Letter

In the coming year, I will join a group of volunteers to Romania on a mission to help a struggling community to achieve sustainability. The community projects we will be working on are quite varied, from teaching English, help constructing a community center and various green projects that will eliminate waste collection and tree growth.
The worksite will be held in the outskirts of Brasov. This quaint town is only 160 kilometers from the capital of Bucharest.
The community center project has been a work in progress since 2010. We are now working on putting up walls and finishing outside insulation. Teach English to underprivileged children and providing the opportunity to practice with native speakers is invaluable. The possibilities of a better job in the future is much better when proficient in the English language. Our green projects raise public awareness regarding the mistreatment of environment. We will work on a variety of activities to promote an eco-friendly attitude. This program is a collaborative effort between our organization and the village.

Expedition Vietnam Fundraising Letter

In the coming year, I will join a group of volunteers to Vietnam on a mission to help a struggling community to achieve sustainability. The community projects we will be working on are quite varied, from teaching basic English and improving the infrastructure of the school.
The worksite is based in Hoi An, one of Vietnam’s most picturesque towns. However within this beautiful town, there is much needed work.
Disadvantaged youths living in rural areas outside of town are allowed to attend the schools we work on at no cost. By teaching English and playing games with the children, they get to take full advantage of learning from a native English speaker. With tourism growing in Vietnam, there is more work opportunities for those who speak English in Vietnam when they get older.

Fighting Poverty in India Fundraising Letter

Destination South Africa: Conservation & Sustainability Fundraising Letter

In the coming year, I will join a group of volunteers going to Africa on a mission to help improve living standards in the Imizano Yetho Township. This is within the Cape Town suburb of Hout Bay. The township is part of an overcrowded community with their community members living in makeshift shacks. Through a program called Globe Aware, I'll help by volunteering my time, effort and money to build and aid in helping to improve and maintain informal community and pre-school care centers, assisting with the refurbishment of the Community Youth Centre, helping to rebuild shacks lost due to fires, replacing simple roofing, home waterproofing, installing concrete flooring and more.

Giving Guatemala Fundraising Letter

In the coming year, I will join a group of volunteers to Guatemala on a mission to help preserve the natural beauty of Guatemala, where a huge population growth and migration have put a strain on resources all over the country.
I will be immersed in the community near Lake Peten Itza which is within a biological rain forest reserve. The community is seeking volunteers like myself to help institute programs that will defend the natural and cultural wealth that has given so much life to Guatemala as well as addressing the living and education standards. I will be a part of a team of volunteers and Guatemalans that will facilitate in the building of a cement floor for a family, working with children at a local community library, teaching a class to students in Grades 7, 8 and 9 in a technical institute in the village for teens without financial resources and various cultural preservation activities. The strategy is to encourage local inhabitants to practice efficient stewardship over the remaining forests. In this way, the local inhabitants can prosper by using the local environment to their economic advantage in a more sustainable way.
The projects I will be working on centers around education and facility improvement. This type of activity is incredibly important as Guatemala has some of the lowest literacy rates in the world. Many locals are suffering numerous health issues due to their living conditions, poor sanitation and even limited access to clean water, which are all daily challenges.

Adopted Chief in Ghana Village Needs Team of Elders
Are you willing to become a Ghana village Elder?
On a volunteer trip to Ghana, Peter Sheehan from Chicago IL was officially made chief of Mafi-Wudukpo, a village in Ghana. Peter accepted the new moniker Torgbui Nubueke I which translates to the “new dawn.”
With this new honor comes new responsibility so Peter Sheehan, along with his wife Colleen are looking for a team of “elders” to help with the first of many projects for their newly adopted village.
The Sheehans will be donating a dollar for dollar match up to $5,000 to help finance a new school for the children of Mafi-Wudukpo. When the goal is reached, Globe Aware, a 501C3 will manage the construction of this new school.
