A Transformative Summer in Guatemala

The Wright family were in Guatemala, experiencing life in the rural jungles. Our main project there is building cement floors for families, and it's not easy! But it helps local families, especially the children, who face serious problems such as parasites when crawling on dirt floors.
Our volunteers helped to cement the floor of a home, planted trees, engaged in cultural crafts such as backstrap loom weaving, and even joined riding horses on a trail. They also began weeding at the garden of the women’s center in preparation for planting turmeric, which can be used as a natural remedy for common ailments and provides economic opportunities for local farmers.
Volunteer Barbara arrived the week after and continued the momentum with cement flooring, weeding, and planting the turmeric garden. She also joyfully spent time with the community's young children, creating meaningful connections through play. So why not combine your future vacation with the invaluable experience of helping others!

Our Mexico Program Is Featured On National Geographic (UK)!

The Camino del Mayab, a 68-mile hiking trail in the Yucatán Peninsula, is revitalizing Maya communities by drawing tourists to explore its jungle paths, cenotes, and haciendas. This initiative helps sustain local economies and preserves Maya culture. Globe Aware collaborates with community members to support these efforts. Volunteers aid in projects that empower Maya villages, enhance local infrastructure, and promote sustainable tourism, ensuring the preservation of both cultural heritage and the environment.
We've had 100 volunteers assist in transforming old haciendas into learning and tourist centers for the community. Families have replanted gardens and made essential repairs to old homes. There is a project for every volunteer. Our Mexico program, set in stunning surroundings, is the perfect volunteer vacation for groups or a family adventure!

Hill Tribes Updates & Donations

The ongoing crisis in Myanmar has driven many hill tribe children, often without families, to risk their lives crossing the border into Thailand. Although the six hostels at our program location are under pressure, everyone strives to accommodate and nurture these wonderful children. In the past, it was rare for hill tribe children to attend secondary school. Thanks to your support, the situation is transforming, creating opportunities for children to advance through high school and higher education. Recently, 19 young people graduated from university or vocational college.

These achievements are only possible through donations and sponsorships. We are deeply grateful to all our sponsors—every cent of your sponsorship money benefits the hostels or the tertiary students.

Recently, a severe storm struck Sukanya's hostel, the boys' dorm, in early May. To cover the repair costs, $1800 is needed. Sixteen children reside in this dorm, and we want to ensure it remains a safe and functional home for them. If you would like to contribute directly to the hostel's repairs, please use the link below!
